family time at a foochow specialty restaurant (that’s—drop—good enough for anthony bourdain)

Mum said, “We’re having a dinner tomorrow with everyone. All you have to do is show up.” Well, ok! The restaurant’s signature dishes are Foochow, in Southern China where my maternal grandparents’ parents were born. Davidson was introduced to pepper crab and red (Chinese) wine soup, a couple of my favourites. We pigged out on way too many dishes, and had a nice chat with my uncle, aunties and the twin cousins. (God, I remember when they were babies.) And yes, we saw a picture of Bourdain with the owner in the restaurant’s lobby. I’ll stop dropping now.
