It’s been about two weeks since visiting New York. But I feel compelled to cheerlead a little about a show John Chaich curated. He gave me the personal tour, and I love his idea to use typography to convey a wide range of voices on the subject of AIDS/HIV these days. Maybe I am biased—being a lover of type and all. Rah, rah.

what does a forgettable lady smell like?
what i learned from the baby shower
1. Stripes!
2. Erin and Jean throw intimate and low-key parties like pros.
3. Meagan is an awesome photographer—she took all these pictures.
4. Over half of my pals have the cutest kids now. “Oh my god, what happened to us?” I said a few times. “I still feel like that young guy,” replied Cicero.
5. I love cookies and cream whipped cream (in the pink coffee cup below).
6. The internet’s ring test says it will be a girl. Because the string with the ring made circles above the big belly. I’m not totally sold on this.
7. It was amazing to see everyone. I wish I had way more individual time with all.
first stop, arepas
(Yep, this posting is about a week late. But I live in the Bahamas, and therefore have less urgency these days.)
Davidson and I ordered 5 arepas and yoyos (top image) from the very-missed Caracas. I can’t even remember the last time we were there. Probably before Jean and Gabriel had a baby, and with them folks.
we arrive at jfk, and promptly get stuck on the bqe. it sure is nice to be back
signs that the economy is still in the toilet
so i was in new york last weekend. didn’t take any candid shots, but got a mystery roll of 120 film developed. this is the best shot from it
we go to a wedding. davidson is one of the groomsmen, and the official colours are pink and blue
Yes, this is the reason we are in Colorado. This place is beautiful, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. It’s not that I thought I would hate it, just that I really never thought about any places outside of NYC and the West Coast in the US. But back to the wedding. It was well-orchestrated, and I teared up a little during the best man’s speech. Oh, and the groom is D’s cousin.
